From Survival to

Sovereignty

Author · Speaker · Life Coach · IPV Advocate

I'm Kristin Coad — author, life coach, IPV advocate, and someone who has done the deep work of figuring out who I am on the other side of everything life handed me. I help people identify what they're carrying, understand why it keeps showing up, and build a practical roadmap for who they're becoming. Whether you're healing from something specific or just know something needs to shift — this work is for you.

The Woman Behind the Work

"You did not survive the water to stay on the shore. You were made to rise, to rebuild, and to thrive."
— Kristin Coad

I didn't come to this work because it was my dream. I came to it because surviving wasn't enough — and I needed to understand why.

When I was in the middle of the hardest period of my life — navigating intimate partner violence, raising my kids, trying to hold a job, trying to hold myself together — I didn't have a roadmap. I had to build one. What I built became the foundation of everything I do now.

My background is in psychology and ethics — I've spent over a decade in professional environments where I saw how systems think about behavior, accountability, and human complexity. I'm also a certified life coach and NLP certified. And I am a peer facilitator — someone who has sat in the circle, not just led it. I graduated from the House of Ruth Maryland's Storytellers program and facilitated for three years before stepping into broader advocacy work.

I am a published author. I am a speaker. I am an IPV survivor who is no longer defined by survival alone.

The goal isn't for you to need me forever. The goal is to help you find your words, name your patterns, and take your next step — whether that's into therapy, out of a situation, or simply forward into the life you're still building.

I am not a therapist. I will never position myself as one. What I am is a bridge. I know the invisible layer — the part that doesn't show up in a police report, the part your family doesn't see, the part you can't explain even when you're standing right next to people who love you. I know it because I lived it. And I built tools because I needed them. Now I share them — because you shouldn't have to build yours from scratch.

A Journey from Survival to Self

"She didn't escape the water. She walked out of it."

There is a moment after survival when the world expects you to return unchanged. This book begins there. With raw honesty and unfiltered courage, a journey from the depths of survival, through the storm of healing, and into the light of self-discovery.

The Methodology

Astro Trauma Integration

ATI is the framework behind all of this work. It's how I made sense of my own healing — mapping childhood wounds, adult triggers, intergenerational patterns, and the gifts that emerged through the process.

"It doesn't ask you to believe anything. It asks you to stop dismissing what you already know."

Financial Services

Financial abuse is one of the most overlooked layers of intimate partner violence. As a licensed financial services representative, I can help you assess your family's financial foundation — life insurance, income protection, and long-term stability.

This conversation isn't only for survivors. It's for anyone whose family hasn't had it yet — because financial security is the foundation that makes everything else possible.
